Rising Flux - Jonathan Weiss

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I knew I would love this one even before I started reading it, and it did not disappoint! Rising Flux is the prequel novella to ‘The Flux Catastrophe’ - a series that takes place before ‘The First Hytharo’ series I read earlier this year. (Do note that I am reading these books in an order purely based on vibes…)

This novella introduces you to the concept of autominds, flux and the overall magic system used throughout the Droughtlands series. The setup was really interesting and I loved the perspective that all the characters, but the main POV, knew what was going on. It pulls you in from page one and keeps you there until the end - aka I finished this book in an hour…

I think this book sets the world up quite nicely for the rest of the Flux series, and will definitely comment on my chosen reading order and the implications thereof once I finish the other two books. Now, on to Molten Flux!
